As you are probably aware on March 24th, 2020 Denton County issued an Amended Disaster Declaration which amounts to a “Stay at Home Order” effective as of 11:59 PM on March 25, 2020 and continuing for seven days, unless extended by the Denton County Commissioners Court. This Order applies to all individuals currently living within Denton County and all businesses not deemed “Essential Businesses” as defined in the Order.
The Elders have therefore made the decision to close the church offices for the duration of this Order with necessary business being conducted by our administrative staff remotely as possible.
We will continue to livestream a Sunday morning service at 9:00 AM each Sunday with worship provided by Kendall and his team as well as a message by Tom. This will continue to be available on demand beginning each Sunday at 9:00 AM via our DBC website, the DBC App, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Facebook.
Tom will continue to teach his Quarantine Bible Study (QBS) each weekday at noon. Check it out!
This Order also further limits public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a household. While some activities of the church are specifically exempted from this stay at home order and others might qualify as essential business, this order applies to gatherings of Church small groups and Bible studies whether at the church or in homes.
Our staff continue to meet remotely on a regular basis in an effort to provide opportunities for existing Bible studies and fellowship groups to meet utilizing remote technologies (like Zoom, etc.). Some have already begun meeting this way with more to follow. Stay tuned.
Please be assured that the Elders and staff continue to pray that we all will prove to be that “fragrant aroma of Christ” to a watching world.
Sincerely in Christ,
Charles Stolfus, on behalf of Tom and the DBC Elder Board
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.” (II Col. 2:14)
