MAKING DISCIPLES OF JESUS
Discipleship is one of the most important functions of the church. It is at the heart of Jesus’ Great Commission: Go into all nations and make disciples, baptizing them and teaching them to obey. (Matthew 28:19-20). Making disciples and maturing men in their faith is a great responsibility. For this reason, the church takes this role very seriously. If you are interested in being a part of the formal Denton Bible Church discipleship program, you’ll need to be:
- A faithful member of Denton Bible Church.
- A mature believer, with an obviously healthy relationship with Jesus.
- Grounded in the Word with a sound doctrine.
- In good standing with the church.
- Active in ministry in the body.
- Able to spend considerable time with a disciple.
BECOMING A DISCIPLE OF JESUS
Following Jesus is the greatest decision that a man can make. And discipleship is essential to becoming a true follower. In our discipleship relationships, you’ll learn to study the Word, pray in faith, serve in the Body and tell others about Jesus. You’ll learn how to apply these truths to strengthen relationships at home and in your community. Discipleship is where you learn to confess sins and begin to live a life of obedience.
We want you to move from being a fan (enthusiastic admirer) to a follower of Jesus.
The discipleship program is available to men of any age who are members of Denton Bible Church.
