S.W.E.A.T. Team

Servant Workers for Every Available Task

The Sweat Team demonstrates Christ’s love to those close to God’s heart – the elderly, the sick, widows, and those without financial resources.  The S.W.E.A.T. Team is intended to accomplish small construction, maintenance and repair projects for those in need who cannot accomplish the work for themselves.

The greatest urgency will be given to conditions where:
  • The home is not livable due to deterioration or physical damage
  • The home needs modifications to address changes in resident’s physical conditions (e.g. handicap ramps, widening of doors, etc.)
  • Residents face eviction or financial fine for not meeting local codes and are physically or financially incapable of complying
  • Residents are not physically or financially able to perform heavy exterior maintenance to include tree trimming, yard clean up, painting, and debris removal.

Who Volunteers for S.W.E.A.T Team?

Men and women with a heart to be used by God to reach out to those in need. No special skills needed; however, having electricians, plumbers, and carpenters on the Sweat Team greatly enhances the ability to help people.

The Sweat Team works Wednesdays from 8:15 a.m. until noon and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until noon. We meet at the Sweat Team office and leave from there to go work. The Sweat Team office is located in a modular building next door to the Annex, across the street from the Hanger.

We would love for you to join the Sweat Team family! We work hard and have fun serving together. Just show up on Wednesday or Saturday.

Can S.W.E.A.T Team Do Large Projects?

The SWEAT Team is not intended to accomplish major construction projects such as replacing entire roofs, constructing additions or new building, whole house renovations or projects expected to last longer than six work days (4 hours per work day)

Will S.W.E.A.T. Team Help Anyone?

While no one will be automatically denied assistance, those with multiple requests or those who are physically and financially able to perform the work for themselves will be closely scrutinized.  For those in question, an income qualification may be required
