FOCUS VBS will help kids dive deeper into their faith by putting the FOCUS on God and His amazing plan for us. Your elementary kids will have a blast as they discover how to trust in what they CAN’T see because of what they CAN see. We’ll use this week to explore four different ways we can FOCUS on God: Hear, Talk, Pray, Live.

Unfortunately, we will not be having VBS in person at Denton Bible this yearDenton Bible Leadership and Elders, as well as our VBS planning team, have decided that VBS simply cannot hold up to the guidelines that were given to us in a safe and respectful manner.

The children’s safety is our number one priority and we believe that this decision is in the best interest of everyone. We’ve worked hard to come up with different ways to still have VBS in person, but in every attempt we just weren’t comfortable that we could execute any plan well and keep the standard of relationship building intact. Our main goal at VBS is to help kids build a relationship with Jesus. One of the main ways we seek to do that is by building relationships with peers, adults, and the church throughout the week.

Here’s the good part! We won’t be cancelling VBS – only modifying it. This year we will be doing a Focus VBS – Build-a-Box Event where you and your children can drive to the church on Monday, July 6 and build your VBS experience. There will be stations set up to pick up a box, crafts, fun activities, VBS swag, and more. There will be music playing and volunteers who are looking forward to seeing you and your kiddos along the way. One of our stations will be a donation station where you can drop off food items for VISION Ministry as well as cash donations for Operation Christmas Child.

We will also be uploading videos for each day of VBS that will encourage your kids to dive deeper into their faith. Their box of activities, with or without the videos, will help them learn how to trust in what they CAN’T see because of what they CAN see by putting the FOCUS on God and His amazing plan for us. We’re using this event as a way to show up face-to-face for our kids even in the middle of uncertain times.

To end our week we will be having a Family Fun Night at Home. We encourage your to order a pizza and join us from the comfort of your own home as we play a trivia game and announce our contest winners. Contest? Yep! We will be sending out more information about our contest as we get closer to VBS week.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate through this time. We ask that you complete our new registration form to let us know how many boxes you will need. We have 3 types of boxes available. The first is going to be a box for the elementary age kiddos (completed Kindergarten – 5th Grade). The second is a box for your preschool age children (3 – Pre-K) that will have slightly different crafts prepared. The third box is a Backyard Bible Box for those of you who would like to invite a few neighborhood kids over and have a small VBS in your backyard.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Stacie Garcia at We look forward to seeing you at Focus VBS – Build-a-Box!

Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. Hebrews 12:2A
